InformationHow renting works

What you really need to know about renting from Boels

Renting at Boels is actually very simple. Let us explain to you how it works and what it costs. That way you won't be faced with any surprises afterwards.

Discover how we make renting equipment as easy, carefree and clear for you as possible.

Bring proof of identity with you

In all Boels branches, we ask private customers who rent from us to identify who they are by providing a valid ID card with a passport photo. You are only allowed to hire equipment upon presentation of a valid passport, driving licence or identity card.

Do I have to pay a deposit?

Our machines and tools are worth a considerable amount of money. That's why we require a security deposit from private customers and companies that don't have a Boels account. The deposit amount varies depending on the item. Have you returned the item to us in good condition after the rental period? Then we'll give you the full deposit amount back. Any security deposit paid by debit card will usually be on your bank account in two working days.

Are there costs for cleaning, repair and wear and tear?

All machines and tools you hire from us are clean and in good working order when you collect them. We also expect you to return them clean and in good condition. If this isn't the case, we may have to charge you for cleaning and/or repair costs afterwards.

Wear-and-tear accessories you hire with equipment, such as diamond blades and diamond drills, are charged based on a cost table. For sharpening hired items such as chain saw chains, chisels, drills and planers, we charge a one-off fixed rate.

How do we calculate the costs for consumables?

The costs for fuels such as petrol, kerosene, gas and diesel are calculated on the basis of actual consumption. We make sure you have plenty of fuel at the start of the rental. Naturally, you won't be charged for any Aspen bottles that you return unopened.

Materials such as sandpaper, grinding wheels, etc. can be purchased with the hired machine or tools.

Unused materials/sealed containers can be returned. You will then be refunded the rental or purchase price.

Can I also have machines or tools delivered and collected?

Delivering equipment to your site and collecting it again is never a problem at Boels Rental. Please remember that you pay a fee for the transport costs.

How are the rates structured?

The rates stated on the website do not include the costs for maintenance, fuel, oil, sharpening, wear and tear, transport, cleaning and accessories. Any service charges and surcharges for the Limitation of Liability A/B are also not included.

What is the difference between the daily, weekly and weekend rate?

With Boels, you decide for yourself how long you would like to hire something. A day, a weekend, a week or even longer? The longer you hire something, the cheaper the rate will be. What you will finally have to pay is determined according to a maximum number of rental day hours and the operating hours (for machines with an operating hours counter).

Rate Rental period for individuals Rental period for businesses
Daily rate Up to 24 hours / up to 8 operating hours (for machines with an operating hours counter) Billing per calendar day. Usage Monday to Friday up to 8 operating hours (for machines with an operating hours counter). Usage on weekends must be recorded and will be calculated accordingly.
Weekly rate Up to 168 hours / up to 40 operating hours (for machines with an operating hours counter) Up to 7 calendar days / up to 40 operating hours (usage Monday to Friday) (for machines with an operating hours counter)
Weekend rate (Saturday - Monday) - 2 x daily rate Up to 72 hours / up to 24 operating hours (for machines with an operating hours counter)
Long weekend rate (Friday - Monday) - 3 x daily rate Up to 96 hours / up to 32 operating hours (for machines with an operating hours counter)

Daily rate
Are you hiring the equipment as an individual at the daily rate? Then you can hire the equipment for a maximum of 24 hours. That means if you pick up the equipment from us on Monday at 10 am, you must return it on Tuesday before 10 am.

Weekend rate
For the weekend rate (Saturday - Monday) individuals hire the equipment for a maximum of 48 hours, but only count 1 x daily rate. If you hire the equipment on Saturday morning at 10 am (the branches are open on Saturdays from 8 am to 12.30 pm) and return it on Monday before 10 am, you pay only 1 x daily rate. Sunday is free.

Long-weekend rate
Individuals can also choose the rate for a long weekend (Friday - Monday). In that case you hire the equipment for a maximum of 72 hours and pay 2 x daily rate. So if you hire the equipment on Friday at 1.30 pm and return it on Monday before 1.30 pm, you pay only 2 x daily rate. Sunday is free.

Devices with operating hours counters
As an individual, are you hiring devices with an hours counter? The daily rate will then be calculated on the basis of 8 operating hours. A maximum of 40 operating hours applies for the weekly rate. If you work for more hours, you will pay an appropriate surcharge for excess hours on the basis of the agreed hire charge.
