How do I choose the right generator?
Choosing the right generator is all about getting the right voltage and power output. Do you know what voltage and how much power you need? Then you can select the generator that best fits your requirements.
Follow these two steps to find the generator that fits your project:
1. Determine the voltage you need
Does the generator need to take over your entire fuse box? Check the kWh meter to see if the indicated voltage is 220/230 V (standard) or 400 V (three-phase). If the generator only needs to power a few devices, just add up the power consumption of everything you intend to connect.
2. Determine the required power output
Calculate the required power output based on the type of electrical load of the devices and their kilowatt or ampere usage. Don’t forget to factor in extra power for starting up your equipment.
